Trinity Newsletter #7. Oct 2, 2020

 Return to Church

We are watching the Niagara response to the pandemic second wave and will follow the guidance of the Public Health.  The environment is changing rapidly, so please continue to watch the church website or listen for calls from our fanout team for updates.  As much as we would like to gather and see another again, safety comes first.  The Return to Church committee has recommended to open the sanctuary the weekend after Thanksgiving

- Oct 18th, 2020.

New Worship Ways at Trinity

Trinity United Church Thorold will follow Public Heath safety guidelines and all local by-law regulations for the safety of all who come to a Trinity worship service.

  1. Worship services will be limited to 55 people based on 30% of total occupancy.

  2. We will be following Public Health screening protocols:

    •   You may have to wait in line to enter the Church.

  • Information will be posted and available for all to review.

  • Screening questions will be asked.

  • Contact tracing information will be recorded.

  • Mandatory masks by-law will be enforced.  (By-law enacted on Friday, July 17th, 2020).  Masks will be available for those who have forgotten them.

  • Provision of hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exit.

  • There will be no Passing of the Peace.  No hugs, hand shaking or fist bumps.  Only waving, cross arms, elbow bumps and nods.

  • Families / Bubble Groups need to be made known to the Greeters, especially if not arriving at the same time.  All attempts will be made to seat these groups together.  You will see white ribbon blocking alternate pews to encourage distancing when seated.

  • Only one person or family bubble in a washroom at one time

  • There will be no coffee hour or visiting after the service

  • To assist with traffic and distancing control, ENTRY access will only be through our front Church doors.  Greeters will guide people to their pews, filling the Church from the front.  Greeters will facilitate the orderly EXIT starting from the front pew rows and through our Community Hall exit doors.

  • No congregational singing (major traditional change for Trinity)

  • Bulletins will be replaced by messages on the screen and webpage.

  1. Offering plates will be at entrances and exits, but no formal offering collection will take place during the service.  We offer the following alternatives to handing in your offering on  the offering plates:

Should you have a question, concern or suggestion, please feel free to talk to one of our greeters or use the contact option provided at our website listed above.

Sharing Good News

Tuition donations continued to arrive early September for Faith Campbell’s exciting entry year at Tyndale University. Thanks to our very generous congregation, tuition coverage has reached the maximum donation of $1000.00 per academic year .

Happy Studies Faith!  Thank you Trinity family!

Irish Stew

It was a heap of work but over 92 meals were sold and about $1500.00 raised. Thanks to all the magic hands that made the delicious Irish Dinner and to all who drove to the parking lot to take your dinners home to enjoy.

The autumn season brings bountiful fruits and vegetables to the many roadside stands here in Niagara. Thanksgiving with your family will likely be different this year, but thankful we are to have come through these many months.  Other families in our community will be wondering or worrying about their Thanksgiving table and I encourage you to consider sharing with the Community Care this year to help those struggling.

Please prayerfully consider Bob Tanouye’s financial update attached to the Thanksgiving envelope - again, thank you for you dedicated  support and generosity to our church family.

We are so very thankful for Rev. Jim, Babs, Chris, Linda and Rick that are the heart and soul of Trinity and keep us together.

Continue praying for one another and watching the Virtual Worship Services.  See you Oct 18th!
